Barrels for sale

November 17, 2012
The Herald-Star
With the rising price of municipal water and drought restrictions now facing much of the United States during the summer months, more and more homeowners are turning to the collection of rainwater to reduce costs and protect this natural resource. Rain water is naturally soft and perfect for watering the garden and lawn or even washing a car, said Maggie Corder of the Jefferson Soil and Water Conservation District. The office is offering rain barrels at a discounted rate of $55 through Dec. 31. The barrels are simple to hook up to a down spout and use, she said. Call the Jefferson Soil and Water Conservation District office at (740)-264-9790 to place an order. -- Mark Law
