OWINGS-ALVEZ, Joyce Ann, 72, of Weirton, died Saturday, Nov.10, 2012, at the Weirton Medical Center.
Born on March 13, 1940, in Wheeling, WV, Joyce was a daughter of the late Darrell K. and Marion Stevenson Jackson. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jon Charles Jackson and her nephew, Jon Scott Jackson.
Joyce was a nurse's assistant at Serra Manor.
She is survived by her husband, Francis Alvez, of Weirton; her son, William R. "Rick"Owings, Jr., of Nashville, TN; her daughter, Diana Lynn Westlake of Colorado; her brother, Jamie Jackson of Weirton; her two grand children, Shawn Owings and Vickie Westlake; and a great-grandson, Tavian.
Visitation was held 4-7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton, WV, where a Funeral Liturgy of the Word was celebrated at 7:30 p.m.
Rev. Fr. Manuel Gelido presided.
Interment in Saint Paul Cemetery.
