Yolanda D’Aurora

D'AURORA, Yolanda Violet (Lucci), 88, died at her residence, Dixon HealthCare Center, on Tuesday, October 30, 2012.

Yolanda was born December 5, 1923, in Oakfield, NY to Ricardo and Donata (Spagnoli) Lucci. At an early age she moved with her family to Steubenville, where she lived most of her life.

Yolanda was a homemaker who also worked in the health care industry after her children were grown. She was a wonderful Italian cook who enjoyed her family more than anything.

Yolanda was a Catholic by faith. She married Vito D'Aurora on December 27, 1941 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Steubenville. He predeceased her in 1983.

In addition to her husband, Vito, she was also predeceased by her parents, her brother, Rinaldo "Joe" Lucci and her sister, Cecilia Garcia.

Yolanda is survived by her four children, Joseph (Vicki) D'Aurora of New Albany, IN, Anna Marie (Paul) Stolic of Simpsonville, SC, Vito D'Aurora Jr. of Redding, CA and Anthony (Patti) D'Aurora of Wintersville, OH. She is also survived by her six grandchildren who meant the world to her: Alan D'Aurora of Columbus, OH, Katie D'Aurora Steffan of Venice, FL, Danette Stolic (Scott) Kabas of Greenville, SC, Janice Stolic of Redding, CA, Bryan (Amber) D'Aurora of Steubenville, OH and Shana D'Aurora of Martinsburg, WV. Yolanda also is survived by her two great- grandchildren Jackson and Alexa Kabas of Greenville, SC and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville on Thursday from 1 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 3 p.m. with Msgr. Kurt Kemo officiating. Burial Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the Dixon HealthCare Center family for their care, and ensuring Yolanda felt like it was truly her home. She thoroughly enjoyed her time spent there and the many friends she made. They would also like to thank Charity Hospice for their help in caring for Yolanda.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to be made to Dixon HealthCare Activity Fund, 135 Reichart Ave., Wintersville, OH 43953. Yolanda loved participating in all the fun activities that Dixon provided.
