ZEIGLER, Charles R., Sr., 76, of Toronto, OH, passed away Monday, October 8, 2012 in the Acuity Specialty Hospital of Ohio in Steubenville, OH.

Chuck was born June 9, 1936 in Toronto, son of the late Hartley Robert and Mildred (Bair) Zeigler.

Chuck was a retired Electrician from the First Energy (Ohio Edison) Sammis Plant in Stratton, OH. He was a member of the Toronto Eagles, Toronto American Legion, Toronto VFW and he was a retired member of the Toronto Vol. Fire Dept.

In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Ruth Westbrook.

Surviving are his wife Merrie Lynne (Kruise) Zeigler; his children, Edward (Vickie) Zeigler, Jeanette (Jay) Richardson, Clint Zeigler, Robert Zeigler and Charles R. (Kim) Zeigler Jr., all of Toronto, OH; Phyllis (Kuhn) Zeigler, mother of his children of Toronto; three stepchildren, William (Serena) Heckathorn of Steubenville, OH, Richard (Sharon) Heckathorn of VA and Lori Heckathorn of Toronto; four sisters, Charlene Keenan of Bloomingdale, OH, Flora Mae Cooper of Steubenville, Linda Carter and Suzanne Zeigler both of Toronto; 18 grand children, Jake, Amy and Caleb Zeigler, Amanda, Joshua, Matthew, Jaclyn Hughes and Jayson Richardson, Aubrey and Clint Zeigler Jr., Brittni and Preston Zeigler, Dana, Blayne and Savannah Zeigler, Shay Zullo, Ashley Reid and Natalie Heckathorn; 13 great-grand children.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home Inc., 701 Findley St. Toronto, OH. Services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Eric Frey officiating. Burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery in Toronto, OH.
