STEUBENVILLE - "What A Woman Wants" is something the Herald-Star and The Weirton Daily Times intend to deliver, courtesy of a head-to-toe expo set for Oct. 14 at St. Florian Hall in Wintersville.

The first-time event from noon to 5 p.m. will combine fashion, food, fun and fitness all in a laid-back sample-and-shop environment where women can "come out for an afternoon of fun, relaxation and pampering," said Cindy Kotsch, special projects and events coordinator for the Herald-Star and The Weirton Daily Times.

The expo will feature fashion shows by Macy's and Anna-Kay's Unique Fashions of Steubenville with a runway seating arrangement. There will be hors d'oeuvres by Piergallini Catering at St. Florian Hall and music and sound provided by Jay Shepherd of Jay Shepherd Weddings.

Six participating sponsors will take to the stage for live demonstrations, including:

1 p.m.: A Pampered Chef presentation by Lisa Zamperini.

2 p.m.: A Macy's fashion show.

3 p.m.: A Zumba demonstration by Cindy's Fusion Fitness.

4 p.m.: A fashion show by Anna-Kay's Unique Fashions.

LNB Fit and Schrickel Chiropractic also will be doing live, on-stage demonstrations.

In addition to the fashion shows by Macy's and Anna-Kay's Unique Fashions in Steubenville, there will be a variety of vendors on hand, including Trinity Health System/Images; Uniquely Designed Anthony Thomas Chocolates; Steubenville Chiropractic; Premier Designs Jewelry; Purse Lady; Ohio Valley Optimal Health; Dr. Patrick Macedonia; A Nail's Charm; McDonnell Chiropractic; Miche Purses, Andrea Zalesny and Kathy Smogor; Cindy's Fusion Fitness; Tastefully Simple, Tami Wietfield; LNB Fit; Young Living Essential Oils; Tami Scott, independent director, My 31; Mary Kay, Gloria Popp; Valley Wine Cellar; Vontrie's Coutour; Stella and Dot; Silpada Jewelry, Diana Camalittie; Pampered Chef, Lisa Zamperini; Chamber & James Funeral Home; Schrickel Chiropractic; Del-Rene's Wig Shop; and the Jefferson County Humane Society.

"Women can browse, shop, have their nails painted, you can have a massage, enjoy music, sample chocolates and wines. We will have something for everyone," Kotsch said.

"It's a browse, be pampered and shop event,"she added.

And it's a chance to win prizes.

Attendees will be eligible to win the grand prize - a two-night trip for four to Seven Springs. There also will be a chance to win Sewickley Spa gift cards, and door prizes will be awarded.

"Our events are always such fun, from the Taste of Home Cooking School to the Sparkling Moments Bridal Show. It just seemed a natural that we do a Women's Expo to give a day out for all ladies to enjoy," said Denise Delatore, advertising director for the Herald-Star and The Weirton Daily Times.

Tickets are on sale now with the cost being $10 in advance at the Herald-Star or by calling (740) 283-4711. They will be $12 at the door.
