Church launches

dinner outreach

First Baptist Church, 334 Cedar Ave., Steubenville, will host a free spaghetti dinner from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

It is open to the public.

"As part of the First Baptist Church of Steubenville's efforts for community outreach, we invite all to attend our weekly Sunday services at 11:30 a.m. We are planning to have a free monthly dinner the first Sunday of every month at 12:30 p.m.," a church spokesperson said.

Food pantry

having dinner

The Scio Community Food Pantry is sponsoring a free will spaghetti dinner to benefit the pantry from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Scio United Methodist Church, 117 Maple St., Scio.

The dinner consists of spaghetti, salad, rolls, cake and drinks. There also will be homemade cherry, apple, blueberry and pumpkin pies for sale at $7 each.

Every $1 donated will purchase $8 of food through the Mid Ohio Food Bank, according to a pantry spokesperson.

Mended Hearts

to meet Monday

The Greater Wheeling Area Chapter 280 of the Mended Hearts Inc. will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at Perkins Restaurant on National Road.

Dr. Jamie Etzel and Dr. Andrew Etzel will give a presentation "Why You Need a Good General Practitioner."

Mended Hearts is a national support organization open to heart patients, their families and anyone interested in heart disease.

IACC members

to meet Oct. 8

The Italian American Cultural Club will meet Monday at St. Florian Hall and is asking members to bring wine or Italian items for door prize baskets that will be awarded at the club's "Festa del Vino" scholarship fundraiser on Nov. 9 at St. Florian Hall.

Members also are asked to bring their favorite biscotti for desserts for the meeting.
