Take a stand with a cross

September 30, 2012
The Herald-Star

To the editor:

The Christian symbol that resembles a fish was placed on a wall of the town square in Roman times to communicate, in secret, to other Christians of their existence.

The number of fish represented how many Christian families lived in that particular town. Back then, you would not only be prosecuted but put to death for simply practicing your Christian faith.

Let us communicate how many Christian families live in Steubenville (the city of the cross) by the placement of a cross in our yards or place of business. If we don't take a stand now, our grandchildren may have to resort to fish symbols.
