Mildred Crouso

CROUSO, Mildred, 95, of Steubenville (Pleasant Hill), OH, passed away on September 11, 2012.

She was born June 25, 1917, in Mindon, WV.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren B. Crouso and infant son, Richard David Crouso. Mildred is survived by daughter, Marjorie Diane Smith and her husband, Robert, son, Warren T. Crouso, and daughter, Loretta Colflesh and her husband, Richard, grand children, John Wallace, Tonya (Wallace) Croston, Rebekah (Colflesh) Brock, and Dr. Matthew Colflesh, step-grandchildren, Valerie Smith, Christy Joynson, Scott Smith, Paige Enoch, and Tracy Gulczynski, great-grandchildren, Cierra Neidermeyer and David Babenko, and seven step great-grandchildren.

Mildred was active in the community including service to the Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church as an active member for 71 years, the Pleasant Hill Fire Department, Pleasant Hill Elementary, the Jefferson County Election Board as a poll worker for 60 years, and worked in the Senior Companion Program in Jefferson County for 17 years retiring at age 89. She was an All-State West Virginia basketball player in high school, an avid bowler, and she became an accomplished artist. She extended friendship and generosity to all who knew her.

A celebration of Mildred's life will be held at 11 a.m. on September 22nd at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church, Route 213 in Steubenville. There will be visitation and lunch served afterward for everyone.
