Louis Kovach Jr.

KOVACH, Louis, Jr., 87, Brilliant, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2012, in TMC West, Steubenville, Ohio.

He was born December 14, 1924, in Mingo Junction, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Elizabeth Foldi Kovach, Sr.; three sons, Fred, Gary and Bruce Kovach; and five brothers, Charles, George, Steve and Frank Kovach and Joseph Gabor.

Lou was a retired supervisor for Koppers Industry, Follansbee, a former employee on the railroad, and an Army Veteran of WW II, having served for 25 years, retiring at the rank of Sergeant.

He was a Life Member of the G.K.L. Wildlife Association, Mingo, and a member of the National Rifle Association, American Legion,the Mingo Senior Activity Center, and was Methodist by faith. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

Surviving are his wife, Lillian Ross Kovach, whom he married on November 15, 1964; a step-daughter, Carole (Ronald) Jaros, Mingo; two sisters, Percilla Flohr, Bloomingdale, Ohio and Suzie VanDine, Texas; six grandchildren, David, Christopher, Matthew, Justin and Jeremy Kovach and Erica Campbell, and several great - grandchildren.

Friends received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m., with Pastor Bob Carson, Officiating.

Interment will follow in Fort Steuben Burial Estates, with Military Honors provided by the Brilliant American Legion.
