From staff reports , The Herald-Star

BELLAIRE - The Toronto volleyball team dropped one at St. John Central on Wednesday 25-14, 21-25, 25-15, 25-15. Cari Horne had five kills, four aces, two digs and two blocks. Lisa Scalley added four blocks and two assists, Amber Fuller three aces and Miranda Robinson three assists, one block and one kills.

"I'll take this loss any day of the week and twice on Sunday," said Toronto coach Chelsey Fletcher. "Finally these young women came to play. When you play every ball you score and we did. We told them after Bishop Donahue we will play who comes ready to mentally play - and we did.

"We made some early adjustments that worked - and they know that's our philosophy from now on. I could not be any prouder of the level of play out girls exhibited. We know who meshes well - it's up to them to maintain it."

The Red Knights visit Jefferson County Christian at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Ryan Activity Center in Wintersville.
