Martha Scouvart

SCOUVART, Martha M. "Marty" Vale, 85, of Eldersville, went home to be with the Lord at 4:07 a.m. Monday, September 10, 2012.

She was born June 9, 1927, in Dillonvale, OH, daughter of the late Rex and Ethel Cole Vale.

Mrs. Scouvart was an active and dedicated member of Open Door Baptist Church since its establishment in 1982. She taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and served on many boards and committees for the church.

She married Frank "Mank" Scouvart, who died February 26, 2006.

She was devoted to her family and church and had operated Scouvart's Hardware in Avella for many years.

Surviving Mrs. Scouvart are three daughters, Patricia (Robert) McAllister of Louisville, KY, Barbara (Frank) Korpos of Weirton, WV, Mary (Gene Dell) Karch of Burgettstown; a son Kenneth (Mary Jo) Scouvart of Washington; eight grandchildren, Dr. Eric (Katy) McAllister, Karen McAllister, Brian (Lauren) McAllister, Doug, Rachel and Rebecca Karch, Michael (Melissa) Scouvart and Michele (Ron) Scouvart Dami; six great-grandchildren, Katherine and Sam McAllister, Linsey and Brandon Dami, and Jack and Matthew Scouvart; two brothers, John and Paul Vale; and a sister, Ethel Vale Farmer.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and husband are a sister Lily Vale; and four brothers, Art, Bob, Don and Earl Vale.

Friends will be received from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday, September 12, in the Jerome A. Stefkovich Funeral Home, Inc., located at 18 Campbell Street, Avella, PA 15312, where additional visitations will be held from 9 until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 13, with Pastor Larry Garrison officiating.

Burial will be in West Middletown Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Open Door Baptist Church Building Fund, RR1 Box 87B Colliers, WV 26035.
