To the editor:
I just wanted to touch on the issue about the jobs the oil and gas industry is bringing to this community.
I live in Steubenville and have a job for an oil and gas company. Everyone I work with at my job (10-plus) are all locals, and many people I work with from other companies are from Ohio,West Virginia and Pennsylvania. My father works for a company that services the oil and gas industry, and it has hired many new employees due to the amount of work they have now.
I believe there are tons of local jobs in the oil and gas industry, you just have to search for them. I spent one to two hours every day searching and applying to jobs, and it paid off. I had several interviews and job opportunities until I found the one I have now, which I am extremely happy to have.
I just wanted to put my facts in because I hear a lot of people complaining about how there are no local jobs from this oil and gas industry, when in fact, there are.
