STEUBENVILLE - The Weir boys soccer team proved too much for Big Red with a 5-3 win Thursday at Harding Stadium.
Weir received goals from Chad Hensley, Kenny Muhart, Ryan Kirk and Shane Davis. The Riders received a score on an own goal by Big Red as well. Muhart added two assists with Davis and Alex Hannah each adding one. Matt Tenaglio had 10 saves.
Jorge Dominguez paced Big Red with a pair of goals and Stefano Lanni added one. Bryan Brown and John Paul Duff each had an assists. Duff picked up 14 saves in net as well.

Oak Glen shut out
NEW MANCHESTER - The Oak Glen boys soccer dropped its first game of the season, 5-0 to Beaver Local Thursday at the Bears' Den.
Offensively for Beaver Local, Chase Hilliard tallied two goals, DeShawn Parker recorded a goal and three assists and Garrett Speelman netted a goal to go along with two assists. Joe Sitarik also found the back of the net.
Oak Glen used two goalies against Beaver Local. Nick Fryer started and made nine saves. Nate Bennett came on in the second half and made two saves.
Big Red blanks Tyler
SISTERSVILLE - The Steubenville girls soccer team earned a 4-0 decision over host Tyler Consolidated on Thursday.
Suki Almeida recorded the hat trick, two on assists from Allie Zimish, who scored the other goal.
"We started the game flat and out of sync but, luckily, Susan Almeida was able to find the back of the net in the first half," said Big Red coach Brittany Falbo of the 1-0 lead at halftime. "I'm proud of the way the girls responded at half time to come out and play their game, which allowed Susan to get two more goals off of beautiful crosses by Allie Zimish."
Zimish scored unassisted late in the second half for the final tally. Loren Gray finished with five saves for Big Red.
Sophie Kenner had 10 for the Silver Knights.
Crusaders nip Wildcats
RICHMOND - The Catholic Central girls soccer team grabbed a 2-1 victory over host Edison on Thursday.
Maria Boston and Kristen Looman scored for the Crusaders, while goalkeeper Moriah Vosteen finished with four saves.
Edison's goal came from Bethany Bube. Jen Sheets tallied eight saves.
Weir falls to Park
WEIRTON - The Weir girls soccer team fell 6-0 to Wheeling park Tuesday.
Alyssa Kelly had 13 saves in goal for the Red Riders.
The Patriots received a hat trick from Megan Horan and a goal each from Alyssa Sonnenfeld, Sierra Yantz, and Aliyah Railing. Goalie Devin Nickerson turned away one shot.
Weir (0-2) travels to Oak Glen Tuesday.
Bruins roll past Oak Glen
WELLSBURG - The Brooke girls soccer team rolled to a 10-2 win over Oak Glen Thursday at the Brooke Athletic Complex.
The Bruins received a hat trick from Kirsten Minger and a pair of goals by Kaitlyn Govey. Sarah Hardsock, Shelby Cronin, Michaela Hinerman, Kameron Miller and Haley Dalton each scored a goal as well. Cheyenne Hudson had two assists with Cronin, Lauren Altobelo and Megan Bilak each adding one. Goaltender Marena Cline had two saves.
Megan Collins scored both Golden Bears' goals with Casey Highfield saving six shots in net.
