Paul R. ‘Rick’ Newbold

NEWBOLD, Paul R. "Rick," 70, of Bloomingdale, OH, formerly of Toronto, OH, passed away Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012, at his home.

Rick was born on March 24, 1942, in Steubenville, OH, son of the late Paul E. and Bette Jane (Garee) Newbold.

Rick was a member of the Hopedale Presbyterian Church, the Toronto American Legion Post No. 86 and the Jefferson Sportsman Club. Rick was a retired County Manager for the Ohio Dept. of Transportation. He also was Veteran of the US Army having served in Germany during the Vietnam War.

In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his brother, Frazier Garee Newbold.

Rick is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Higgins) Newbold, whom he married on February 14, 1987; his daughter Lori Jane (Daniel) Whittaker of Hilliard, OH; his son Dr. Paul (Helen) Newbold of Orlando, FL; two step sons, Kevin (Barbara) Higgins of Smithfield, OH, Keith (Traci) Higgins of Frazeysburg, OH; his brother William (Holly) Newbold of Toronto, OH. Rick also leaves behind nine grandchildren.

A memorial visitation will take place on Friday, Aug. 31 from 2-7 p.m. at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH followed by a Memorial Service at 7 p.m. with Lay Pastor George Coffman officiating. Burial will be held at Toronto Union Cemetery at the convenience of his family.
