Coffee House to

host Modranski

The Pleasant Hill 213 Coffee House at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church, 3279 state Route 213, Steubenville, will welcome Steubenville resident Lynne Modranski as its performer on Sept. 7 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Modranski is a lead singer, songwriter, keyboard and rhythm guitar player for Crossroads to Glory and also is a solo artist and worship leader at Sycamore Tree Church.

Her music ministry has been heard throughout the United States, Ireland and Great Britain on various Christian radio stations, and she has traveled throughout Alabama, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Missouri, Pennsylvania and New York performing her music in church.

Modranski opened for Christian artist Wayne Watson, winning first place in 2004 Nashville Records' annual songwriting contest with her son, "Forgive Me Much, Lord."

Her music style ranges from Christian country to inspiration pop.

She is the author of several Bible studies and family related books and has released two full-length albums.

The suggested admission donation is $5. Snacks are available for purchase. All proceeds go to local charity.

Hill Top having

outdoor worship

Hill Top Presbyterian Church in Toronto will have an outdoor worship service at Stratton Park on Sunday beginning at 10:30 a.m. in shelter house No. 3.

"It will be a fun day of worship, fellowship, picnic, games and swimming," a church spokesperson said, with all members and guests invited to attend.

The Christian Education Department and the Mariners will be providing the food.

A congregational picture will be taken for a special project that is being planned.

Church hosts Thursday lunches

Two Ridges Presbyterian Church, 1085 Canton Road, Wintersville, offers hot lunches with desserts and beverages on Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

'Fall Fantasy' card

party scheduled

Holy Family Church Catholic Women's Club will host its "Fall Fantasy" card party on Sept. 23 at the church's Malara Hall located at 2565 Alexander Blvd., Steubenville.

Doors open at 12:45 p.m. with lunch served at 2 p.m.

Admission is $6. The card party will include a 50/50 drawing, door prizes, table prizes and bingo.

Chicken, biscuit dinner at church

A chicken and biscuit dinner fundraiser will be held at Bell Chapel United Methodist Church, state Route 213, Steubenville, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 8.

Adult meals are $7 and $3.50 for children age 7 to 12.

Patrons can dine in or get carryout, calling (740) 283-2239 to place an order.

Ice cream social at area church

Tiltonsville United Methodist Church, located at 106 Grandview Ave., Tiltonsville, is hosting an ice cream social from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.on Tuesday.

A $5 donation includes a piece of dessert, ice cream and a drink. Live entertainment will be provided by "WE3," and there will be a Chinese auction.
