Charlie Wilson offers assistance

To the editor:

Working as a home-health aide, I was assigned to a young man who had Duchesne muscular dystrophy.

He had a special wheelchair designed for him, and it broke. It was sent to a special repair service. This happened in February, and by the beginning of April, it still hadn't been returned. Many calls were made, but the return was still delayed. The young man was given a regular wheelchair, and due to his problems, he was very uncomfortable to the point of extreme pain.

I met Charlie Wilson at a gathering, and I approached him. He was very encouraging. Within a few days, the wheelchair was returned.

I was very impressed that he took the time to listen and respond.
