Valley Hospice will host two evenings dedicated to remembering and celebrating the lives of loved ones during its ninth-annual Valley Hospice Memorial Butterfly Releases to be held Aug. 22 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Weirton, and Aug. 23 at the Corson Butterfly Garden at the Oglebay Institute Schrader Center in Oglebay Park, Wheeling.
Both releases will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
"Our butterfly memorials provide a unique opportunity to cherish memories of our loved ones as we combine music and thoughtful recitations," said Carole Tarr, Valley Hospice community bereavement coordinator. "The release of the butterflies is a therapeutic experience that can provide comfort to those suffering from loss."
The event is open to the public.
Butterflies are $5 each and must be pre-ordered by Aug. 15. For information or a butterfly order form, contact Valley Hospice at (740) 859-5650 or toll free at 877-HOSPICE.
