Rosebud Garden

Club meets

The Rosebud Garden Club held a mini-flower show where all entries were critiqued. Master gardener Nina Cleaver gave tips on what makes successful garden show entries for the members.

They learned how to make herbal vinegar during the July meeting also. Cleaver displayed many varieties of vinegar, demonstrated how to prepare them and explained the many uses of these vinegars. Members received handouts with the instructions and recipes. A basket of herbal vinegars was won by Ann Marie Grayzar.

The meeting, held at the Dillonvale Presbyterian Church was hosted by Gloria Bartyzel and Cleaver. Roll call was taken by naming a type of maple tree. Dawna Kale read the gardening tip.

Darwin and Linda Burge were thanked for hosting the June meeting at their home and giving a tour of their gardens.

The Jefferson County Fair Flower Show, to be held Aug. 18 and 19, was discussed. Those assisting with the show will be the Burges, Linda Kovach, Marjorie Bensie and Caroline Williams. Coordinating the educational display will be Jodi Russell and Darwin Burge.

A trip to the Palace of Gold Gardens on Sept. 15 was discussed, and plans will be finalized for the trip at the August meeting.
