Game helps preserve memory

The Herald-Star

To the editor:

On July 28 at Muth Field in Mingo Junction, the seventh-annual Brian Pizzoferrato Memorial Baseball Game was held. Even in inclement weather, a large turnout of fans and players came.

God bless all who played and worked and participated in any way in this wonderful show of remembrance and love for this young man who was taken from us much too soon at the age of 34.

Brian loved baseball and all his friends who played the game with him through the years are so gracious to take part.

Many thanks to the many sponsors and people who contributed in any way; the Stromps - Dave and Sue and David - for all their efforts; the players, risking injury to show the respect they had for Brian; all who helped in any way; the U.S. Kids for taking the time to appear; and my family and friends for all their help. Brian's son, Ronnie, threw out the first pitch.

Many thanks to friends and family, and God bless.

Ron Pizzoferrato
