Water system repairs set for Thursday

STEUBENVILLE - City Water Department Superintendent Bill Skinner announced today repairs to the LaBelle Water District are set for Thursday.

Skinner said the work will start at 8 a.m. and continue until 4 p.m.

"Water customers in Brady Estates and the Manhattan subdivision may be affected during the repair work," said Skinner.

"The city's water department will have three broken main water line valves removed by a contractor on Oregon Avenue at the intersection with Brady Avenue. This work is in conjunction with the three new replacement valves that were successfully installed near the broken valves on Tuesday. Water service will be restored once the repair is completed," Skinner explained.

"This repair will enhance the city crews to make future repairs and also to isolate this portion of the city's water distribution system from the rest of the Labelle Water District when necessary," Skinner added.

Residents that may have concerns or questions may call the staff at the water filtration plant at (740) 283-6041.
