It's 'Italian Night'

at E.S. center

An "Italian Night" of foods will be featured when the East Springfield Community and Recreation Service Center hosts its August fundraiser from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday.

The center is located on county Road 39 next to the fire department.

The menu will feature spaghetti, lasagna, rigatoni, ravioli, chicken tettrazini or pizza, salad, Italian bread, dessert and drink.

The cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children.

Live entertainment will be provided by Tom Graham, Jefferson County commissioner.

Weirton VFW

holding 500 dinner

The Weirton Veterans of Foreign Wars will hold their 500 dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday at the club.

The menu includes cabbage rolls, mashed potatoes, vegetables, bread and butter, desserts and beverages.

The cost is $7 per person, and tickets can be purchased at the club.

The VFW Ladies Auxiliary will hold a special election for the office of guard at its Aug. 13 meeting.

Richmond offers music at gazebo

The Richmond Community Historical Society is sponsoring "Music in the Gazebo" featuring the Sands of Time from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday.

Those attending are encouraged to bring a lawn chair for the evening of music held in the gazebo area at the Richmond Commons on Main Street.

Food will be available for purchase, and there will be a 50-50 drawing. Donations will be accepted to benefit the Crew House Museum on Main Street, Richmond.

Society members will have remaining "Richmond, Ohio" crocks on sale for $20.

The society's next summer open house at the Crew House Museum will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 12.

Antonio Meucci

Lodge meets

The Antonio Meucci Lodge No. 2506 members met July 10 at Undo's in the Holiday Inn in Weirton.

President Regina Truax welcomed those attending, including Bob and Minnie Pazich, the guests of Amondo and Adalgisa D'Amico.

Chaplain Mary Rose Spano opened with prayer. Angie Veltri, Carol Valenti and Linda Pfabe gave reports.

Truax announced the following trips:

Wanda Perrone won the 50-50. Other prize winners were Delores LaRosa, Liz McGrogan, Nick Smarrella, Anthony Guglielmo and Patsy Brancazio.

The next meeting will be Aug. 7 at Starvaggi Park for a club picnic.

Weir High class planning reunion

The Weir High School Class of 1977 will be holding its 35-year class reunion Sept. 1 at the Holiday Inn, Weirton.

The icebreaker will be held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Aug. 31 at the Knights of Columbus Hall.

Benefit dinner

set for Aug. 12

A Charlie Ward benefit will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Aug. 12 at the Stratton Municipal Hall.
