STEUBENVILLE - City police were investigating two reported armed robberies Friday night that saw an undetermined amount of cash taken.
The first incident occurred after 5 p.m. when an attendant at the University Boulevard BP gas station reported a black male carrying a knife walked into the office area and demanded money.
While police officers were searching for the man and the car he was driving a second armed robbery call came within 45 minutes from the Dollar General store on Hollywood Boulevard.

Law enforcement officials said an undetermined amount of cash was taken from the Dollar General store by a black male.
Late Friday evening, police said they could not say if the same man was involved in both incidents.
Several police cruisers and an Ohio Highway Patrol cruiser was seen patrolling the neighborhood.
Police Chief Bill McCafferty said the investigation was continuing, and officers were following up on several leads.
