Dillonvale Presbyterian plans Peach Social

The Dillonvale Presbyterian Church, 52 Liberty St., Dillonvale, will hold its 62nd-annual Peach Social from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Aug. 10. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children, which includes cake, ice cream, peaches and a drink. Music will be provided by Roz and Lynn.

Steak fry Aug. 12

at Sargus Hall

The Men's Club and Catholic Women's Club of Blessed Sacrament Church will hold their annual steak fry from noon to 5 p.m. Aug. 12 in the upper level of Sargus Hall, 852 Main St., Wintersville.

Dinner consists of an 8-ounce sirloin steak, potatoes, green beans, salad, beverage and dessert for $10. A smaller dinner consists of a hot dog, potatoes, green beans, salad, beverage and dessert for $4 with additional hot dogs available for $1. For information, phone (740) 264-9260.

Civil War topic

Gerald Payne will be the featured presenter in the second series of the "Church during the Civil War" at Scio Presbyterian Church, 101 N. Eastport St., Scio.

It will be held at 3 p.m. Aug. 5. It is open to the public. There will be light refreshments. A love offering will be taken.

Bethel UMC to hold

Fun Fest Aug. 4

Bethel United Methodist Church in Harrisville is holding a Fun Fest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 4. There will be a luncheon, baked goods, music, donkey rides and a yard sale at the event. For information, call (740) 546-3235.

at First Baptist

Sheldon Mencer, a Christian singer and songwriter, will perform during the 11:30 a.m. service Sunday at the First Baptist Steubenville, 334 Cedar Ave., Steubenville.

Christian singles

retreat scheduled

Christian Singles Fellowship of the Western Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church offers a retreat for singles Aug. 31 through Sept. 3.

The 39th-annual retreat is held at Jumonville Camp & Retreat Center in Hopewood, Pa., near Uniontown, Pa. Always single, separated, divorced or widowed individuals are welcome to attend the retreat which is open to singles of all denominations. Men of Destiny

to meet Aug. 11

The Men of Destiny of the House of Faith, 1913 Estelle Ave., Steubenville, will meet at 9 a.m. Aug. 11.

All men are welcome to attend the nondenominational gathering.

Weirton church plans

'Unity in Community'

The Christ the King Family Worship Center will sponsor a "Unity in the Community" event from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Weirton Events Center located at the former Cove School site.

Free food, inflatables, face-painting and games will be available from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Christian rapper Royalty, Strongcord Music Inc. and church members will provide music entertainment from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Door prizes will be awarded throughout the day.

Church women's group

plans craft, treasure sale

Members of the Community of Christ Church Women's Department, Wellsburg, will hold a craft fair and home treasure sale at 8 a.m. Aug. 4 at the Dollar General Market at state Route 2 and Bruin Drive, Welsburg. There will be a variety of holiday decorations and other household items and refreshments for sale.

Hopedale UMC to

host entertainment

The Hopedale United Methodist Church will host an evening of entertainment by John & Walter -John Hudson of West Virginia and Walter Leyland, Steubenville - at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

The event is open to the public.
