To the editor:
I commend the City Council of Steubenville for the professional manner in which it handled the city logo problem.
All too often, I am embarrassed to be a resident of Ohio, when I see local governments attempting to push religion into government. It illustrates a lack of understanding of why the Founding Fathers felt it necessary to include the First Amendment to the Constitution.
Separation of church and state benefits all concerned parties. The diversity of religion we enjoy in this country is a result of the separation of church and state.
Thank you for making me proud to be from Ohio.
