Upcoming programs at the branches of the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County include:
-- A worm race will be held today at the Brilliant branch and at the Tiltonsville branch, both beginning at 5:30 p.m.
-- New at the Tiltonsville branch is the Cook Book Club where participants bring in a covered dish from selected cookbooks each month. It will be held the last Thursday of every month beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday. Call the library at (740) 859-5163 for information.
-- Book club will meet at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the main library, and the men's club will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the main library. For information about either club, call the library at (740) 282-9782.
-- There will be a pajama party at the Schiappa branch at 2 p.m. Thursday. Participants should wear their PJs for an afternoon of games, music, stories and snacks.
-- Family Movie Day will be held at the main library at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Register by calling the library at (740) 282-9782.
-- Play and Learn the Alphabet is for caregiver and children ages 2-6 with letter-learning toys and will be held at the Tiltonsville branch on July 30 at 11 a.m. and at the Brilliant branch on July 31 at 11 a.m. Registration not needed.
-- Your preschool child can learn how to speak Italian at the Schiappa branch on July 31 at 11 a.m. with Anna Santacroce. Register by calling the library at (740) 264-6166.
