Teamwork made event a success

July 22, 2012
The Herald-Star

To the editor:

The Jefferson County Animal Welfare League event held on July 8 at St. Florian Hall was a tremendous success. Thanks to the great teamwork of the organizers, led by Janet Polverini, everyone had a marvelous time. This was not only a fundraising event, but a social one as well. It was nice to meet new people and discover you have something in common. There were prizes for everyone, and Todd Piergallini provided a delicious array of foods. Just a great time was had by all.

As a longtime member of the AWL, I was impressed by the amount of support given to this worthwhile event. It's good to see so many people inspired to support the efforts of the animal welfare league, which include spaying and neutering the animals of Jefferson County and helping those in need of pet food for their beloved animals.

Janet has told me that those sponsorships made in July will appear in the program for the deluxe pancake breakfast scheduled for 8 a.m. Sept. 29 at St. Florian Hall. Tickets are going fast. Contact Polverini at (740) 537-2294 to purchase tickets for this breakfast. Knowing Janet, this will be as wonderful an event as the July 8 dinner.

Thank you for all of those people who helped make this event a success. I'm really looking forward to the next one.
