Reader through with Olympics

The Herald-Star

To the editor:

I see where the United States Olympic Committee has christened Ralph Lauren to do its outfits for parading around the Olympic Stadium for all the world to see. The sad part is that the clothing attire is manufactured in China.

Ironic isn't it? The U.S. athletes parading around in outfits made in China. There are more than 600,000 Americans laid off from the clothing manufacturing industry and the "powers that be" have decided to give us a big up yours by having the clothing the athletes were wear made in China.

I, for one, have pledged my last dime to the Olympic Committee. If they need to raise money for our athletes, let them go ask China. It should also be noted that designer Ralph Lauren is also a part of this mess. I will not afford him the luxury of pocketing my money from a purchase of his goods. He to should pack up and go to China as far as I am concerned.

This is outsourcing at it's blatant best. Our athletes are caught in this firestorm, but why are they too not speaking out? The only thing I can think of is the scorn that descended upon participants who voiced opposition to USOC dictatorship in the past. I am through with the Olympics and Ralph Lauren clothing. I hope our readers feel the same way.
