Circus was truly Grand

To the editor:

The Grand Theater Restoration Project brought the Carson and Barnes Big Top Circus to Steubenville Monday. I hope it was a huge success for the renovation of the Grand Theater.

My husband and I attended and truly enjoyed it. I had not been under the big top since I was a little kid in Alabama. My husband said he had never been to a circus under the big top and was amazed at how much fun it was. We took our children who are now grown to a circus locally when they were little. It was in the St. John Arena, I believe. It was a great circus, too, but not nearly as fun to watch as Monday night's was. A lady came out from the afternoon performance and told me it was worth every penny. I certainly can state the same comment.

All of the performances were so fun and we laughed a lot. Some of the aerial performances had us holding our breath that no one would fall. That is what watching a circus is all about: fun, amazement and awe.

Monday night was a grand night in Steubenville for the Grand Theater Restoration Project. Let's hope the proceeds from the circus were just as Grand.

For those who still say that there is nothing to do in Steubenville, I beg to differ.
