Saving lives not a party issue

To the editor:

More than 40 million unborn babies have been killed since the Roe v. Wade decision legalized abortion in 1972.

We continue to add to this number as evidenced by the report by The Associated Press in Jackson, Miss., stating that they have sued to stop a law that will ban abortion there saying the health of women will be endangered if they don't have access to the procedure. Women's health? What about the health of the babies? Killing babies has nothing to do with health.

The argument is closing the abortion clinic is unconstitutional. What about the Constitution? The first right listed is the right to life.

Furthermore, President Barack Obama has contradicted himself repeatedly since he took the oath of office when he placed his hand on a Bible. Did he forget that the Bible does not support abortion? Do you plan to vote in the coming election? Remember that voting is not a party issue when it comes to saving the lives of babies.

Thomas Jefferson once wrote, "The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only objective of good government."
