Purple Circle
The Purple Circle 4-H Club recently mowed the grass and did some landscaping at the East Springfield Community and Recreation Center on county Road 39 in East Springfield.
The club's next meeting will be a covered-dish dinner at the fairgrounds at 6 p.m. July 8. The meeting will be followed by a cleanup of the flowerbed at its barn and getting it ready for the county fair Aug. 14-19.
The club also will establish a committee to work on the 4-H booth.
Friends and Neighbors
The Friends and Neighbors 4-H Club learned about the new food group design when Shannon Means gave a lesson called "My Plate" at the meeting held at the Colonial Baptist park pavilion.

Ethan Zizfal presided while Coy Amis gave a safety talk on tornadoes and a demonstration on bicycle hand signals. Kameron Dorsey demonstrated how to take care of a hamster.
The Cloverbot Icee Legos team participated in the Cloverbot Challenge in Columbus June 9, with Nolan Corder, Kailyn Frey, Brayden Medley and Lindsey Zifzal taking home the outstanding teamwork trophy for their poster display and ice cream factory, created with Legos. Donna Corder met with the students weekly during May, teaching them about simple machines, building and demonstrating food safety that was related to the "Snack Attack" theme.
A field trip is planned to the Schiappa Public Library, a Family fund Day at Austin Lake beginning at 11 a.m. July 21 and a July 13 cookout and scavenger hunt at the home of the Donna Corder family July 13. Lane Corder will do a demonstration.
