"The Clarks fan club has been given an allotment of tickets, so we don't know how many of those (have been) sold," said Hershey. "The tickets are less expensive if purchased in advance. We hope people take advantage of that."
Hershey said the concert and related activities that day will go on, rain or shine.
"Everyone tells us the last 72 hours (prior to the concert) are the most critical," Hershey continued, adding she's confident the public will respond. "The show will go on, rain or shine, and so far the weather looks to be good that day. We had beautiful weather last year, and we hope we're going to have the same again this year."
Hershey also said she believes the concert and related events "offer something for everyone."
"The committee has worked very hard to provide something for everyone," she said, adding fun for all ages is guaranteed during the event. "It's also keeping local dollars local, as well as celebrating our nation's birthday."
Other activities during the day include a Family Fun Zone on the Harding Stadium practice facility, sponsored by the Fort Steuben Mall, where local crafters and vendors will be surrounding the venue.
Opening ceremonies begin at noon with city Mayor Domenick Mucci at the Harding practice field, and a car cruise with karaoke and a disc jockey is set from noon to 3 p.m. in Harding School upper parking lot.
