Isabelle M. (Prolago) Bengier

BENGIER, Isabelle M. (Prolago), 92, of Wintersville, OH, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Sienna Woods.

She was born June 12, 1920, in Steubenville, OH, the oldest daughter of the late Frank A. and Mary N. Romano Prolago, Sr.

Isabelle was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, for over 50 years, where she was a member of CWC and St. Francis Society. She served in the U.S. Navy. She worked in the tin mill department of Weirton Steel during WW II until she got married in 1947. Isabelle worked at Industrial Steel at the Berkman Co. as a welder for 10 years and her last job was working in the ladies department at Thrift Town.

Isabelle was preceded in death by her husband Stanley E. Bengier; five brothers Louis, Frank, Jr., Paul, William and Ray Prolago; three sisters Virginia Smogonovich, Madalyn Frascketti and Jeanette Bracciale and four infant siblings. Surviving are her daughter Janet (James) Brinskey; grandson Joe (Laura) Brinskey; three great grandchildren Gianna, Angela and Anthony Brinskey; brother Robert Prolago and three sisters Helen Sciaretti, Anna (George) Stirpe and Mary E. Reeves.

Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville on Tuesday 2 4 and 6 8 p.m. Funeral liturgy with mass will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Msgr. Kurt Kemo as celebrant.

Entombment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery where Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad will perform military honors.
