To the editor:
When the shale gas industry announced its arrival to our area, we were told this area would be flooded with local jobs.
My concern is how these new jobs are going to mainly out-of-town workers. The energy companies rode out high hopes for our communities that have been down for some time. All we ask for is a fair shake. We have the manpower to do the work and are more than willing to do a good, safe job.
We all have family, children, grandchildren and such who are looking forward to us being able to get jobs where we put in the work and provide for them.
In closing, I really hope and pray that we can come together and make this shale gas industry work for everybody.
