LINK, William John Sr., 85, of Bulger, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2012, in Humbert Lane Health Care Center, South Strabane Twp.
He was born on Oct. 2, 1926, in Hays, a son of the late Robert and Sarah Kernohan Link.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served from December 1944 during World War II and was honorably discharged in September 1946, a recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon, and the Army Occupational Medal in Japan.

He retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel in Mingo Junction, OH and was a member of the Slovan VFW Post 6553.
His wife, Mildred Ankrom Link survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, William J. Link Jr. and wife, Kathy of Weirton, WV, Richard Link and wife, Marlene of Alabama, and Thomas Link and wife, Patty of VA; two daughters, Sandy Sabatasse of Bavington, and Sherry Davidson and husband, Gary of Washington; 12 grandchildren, Jesse Link and wife, Tricia, Dustin Link, Ricky Link and wife, Marlyn, Bryan Link, Matthew Link, Jason Sabatasse, and wife Tracy, Chris Sabatasse and wife, Christine, Dane Sabatasse, Tyler Davidson, Kevin, Keith and Kyle Link; two great- granddaughters, Skye Sabatasse, and Aster Link; two brothers, Elmer and Hugh Link, both of Eldersville; a sister, Alice Walker of Langeloth; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to his parents is his first wife, Rose Pienkosky Link, who died on May 4, 1993; a brother, Robert Link; a sister, Helen Orison; a son-in-law, Carl "Pud" Sabatasse; and a great-grand son, Dallas Sabatasse.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. in the Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Ave., Burgettstown where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2012, with the Rev. Todd Stemple officiating. Interment with full military honors accorded by the Slovan and Burgettstown VFW/American Legion Honor Guard will follow in the Grandview Cemetery, Florence.
