Traffic to be affected by gas line work

STEUBENVILLE - The traffic light at the intersection of South Fourth Street and South Sixth Street will be controlled by flaggers starting at 7 a.m. Monday to allow Columbia Gas and a contractor to perform pavement saw cutting and pipeline installation.

According to City Engineer Michael Dolak, "the work zone intersection will be controlled by a flagger from 7 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. every day through Thursday."

"Traffic will be maintained with the use of flaggers and motorists are advised to drive slowly through the construction zone and be aware of daily traffic pattern changes," said Dolak.

"This work is part of the Columbia Gas main and service line upgrades in the south end of the city," added Dolak.

County engineer releases schedule

STEUBENVILLE - Jefferson County Engineer James Branagan released the work schedule for the county highway department for next week:

Pavement patching - Bradley Road (county Road 20); Piney Fork Road (county Road 11) and Pine Valley (county Road Road 12).

Pavement repairs - Glen Robbins-Mount Pleasant-Rayland Road (county Road 1).

Full depth pavement repairs - Elkhorn Road (county Road 49).

Road closings will be announced.

Chamber to hear of monument project

WELLSBURG - Tony Paesano, president of the Follansbee Chamber of Commerce, will discuss plans for a fountain monument to local veterans at Tuesday's chamber meeting Tuesday.

The meeting will be held at noon at Vito's 2 Restaurant.
