CAMMER, Joseph W. "Joe," 56, of Brilliant, Ohio, passed away Friday June 8, 2012, at home.

He was born Aug. 13, 1955, in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, a son of the late Frank W. and Dolores (Helfer) Cammer, Sr. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles W. Cammer.

Joe was employed as a mechanic for Conrail Railroad. Joe served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Brilliant American Legion Post 573, where he enjoyed playing the Easter bunny for the kids at the legion Easter party. He enjoyed golfing and was Catholic by faith.

Surviving are a son, Jeremy (Jennifer) McDowell of Ames, Iowa; three granddaughters, Emily, Sophia and Kelsie; three brothers, Frank W. (Sherry) Cammer, Jr. of Brilliant, Thomas (Billi Jo) Cammer of Mingo Junction, Andy (Jami) Cammer of Brilliant; and three sisters, Donna (Bruce) Butler of Adena, Ohio, Joyce (Kelley) Boring of Rayland, Ohio, and Joan (George) Polen of Rayland, Ohio.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, on Sunday from 2-4 and 6 p.m. until the time of his services at 8 p.m. with military honors by the Brilliant American Legion Post 573 and funeral services to follow by Pastor Jim Monogioudis. Private interment at New Alexandria Cemetery.
