Gary Wasik

WASIK, Gary, passed away at his home, which he loved so much in the desert in Glendale, AZ, in the company of his sister, Alicia Wasik, on May 19, 2012.

Gary lived in AZ the past 36 years. He was born to Irene (Borek) Wasik and John Wasik on August 29, 1948, in Steubenville, OH. He graduated from Weir High School in 1967 and received an Associate in science degree in civil engineering technology and a Bachelor of Science Degree in business administration from West Virginia Institute of Technology in 1972. Gary joined and was an active member of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. He worked 30 years for the City of Glendale as a Senior Engineering Technician in the Survey Division and retired in 2006. Gary served in the U.S. Army Reserves and Arizona National Guard from 1972 to 1979.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1995 and is survived by his mother and sister, both of Weirton, WV. Gary will be sadly missed by his mother, sister, family and his pets, KitKat and Zoey. He will be remembered for his loyalty to his family and his keen intelligence for inventing things.

A memorial service will be held at the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church on June 13, 2012, at 6:30 p.m. Donations can be made in Gary's name to Hospice of AZ Foundation (19820 North 7th Avenue, Suite 130, Phoenix, AZ 85027), who provided compassionate care and comfort to him in his final days.
