Memorial Day services set

WINTERSVILLE - The 58th-annual Wintersville Memorial Day services are set to begin at noon on Monday.

The event will be held at the Fort Steuben Burial Estates and is sponsored by Stevens-Christian American Legion Post 557 of Wintersville.

The guest speaker for the program will be Toronto county court Judge Joseph Corabi and the Rev. Imre Gulyas of the Wintersville Church of Christ will offer the invocation.

The Rev. Kurt Kemo of Blessed Sacrament and Our Lady of Lourdes churches will offer the benediction.

Vocal selections will be performed by Rich Coburn, and a balloon release in memory of deceased veterans will take place, followed by the "Salute to the Deceased" by the firing squad of Post 557.

The public is invited to attend and encouraged to bring lawn chairs for the event. The program is expected to last approximately 30-40 minutes.
