SHUMA, Michael A., 42, of Toronto, Ohio, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012, in the ER of Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, Ohio.

Mike was born July 23, 1969, in Steubenville, son of the late Andrew Victor Shuma who passed away April 28, 2012, and Mary Ann (Pillar) Shuma who survives.

Mike was a member of the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Toronto, Ohio; he was an avid outdoorsman having also been a member of the Toronto Rod and Gun Club. Mike was currently employed at Timet Metals Corp. in Toronto; he was previously employed by the Weirton Parks and Recreation Department. Mike's voice could also be heard on the local radio football show Ohio Valley Game Night where he was a commentator.

Mike leaves behind his wife, Marie N. (Zuk) Shuma whom he married on No. 17, 2001; his mother, Mary Ann, of Toronto; his three sisters, Mary Ann (Stacy) Annis of Stevensville, Mich., Marlene (Pete) Lamantia and Melissa (George) Kaldor both of Toronto, Ohio; his mother-in-law Regina Zuk, also of Toronto; Mike's 13 nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mike will be held on Wednesday, May 23 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 701 Findley St., Toronto, Ohio, where a vigil service will be held at 3:45 p.m.

Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Thursday from 9-9:45 a.m. followed by Mike's Funeral Liturgy with Mass held at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church with Celebrant Fr. Thomas Vennitti.

Burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery.

Donations may be made in Mike's memory to the THS Stadium Fund, c/o Toronto City Schools, 1307 Dennis Way, Toronto, Ohio 43964 or Millsop Community Center, 3420 Main St., Weirton, W.Va. 26062 to be used for youth activities.
