VAUGHN, Ella Mae "Ellie," 90, of East Liverpool, died Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at the East Liverpool City Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Cadiz, OH, March 23, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Marion and Hazel Lee Hendershot. She graduated from Scio High School in 1940 and moved to this area in 1941. She attended the Beechwood Free Methodist Church and worked at the Hall China Company until retiring in 1986.
Her husband, William Vaughn, died May 11, 1971. The couple married August 9, 1941.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Lyon and Betty Yoho and six brothers, Clyde, Graydon, Leroy, John, Bob and George Hendershot, as well as a grandson, Rich Rambo.
Three daughters survive, Nancy Silverthorn, and her husband, Richard, of Toronto, Sandra Croxall, and her husband, Edward, of East Liverpool and Penni Rambo, and her husband, Jerry, of East Liverpool. There are eight grand children: Melissa Phillips, Buffy Swickard, Richard Silverthorn, Jr., Jason Croxall, Eric Croxall, Jerry Rambo, Jr., Tammy Rambo and Chad Rambo; as well as 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great- grand children.
Friends may visit Friday evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 5-8 p.m. Rev. Norm Eckert of the Beechwood Free Methodist Church will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.
Memorial tributes may take the form of contributions in care of St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship and continued remembrance.
