FOLLANSBEE - Bethany Allison Snyder and Simon Peter Fernbaugh were united in marriage on Oct. 8 in an outdoor ceremony at Sandscrest Conference and Retreat Center in Wheeling, with the Rev. Merkel L. Fernbaugh Jr. and the Rev. Jonathan Absher co-officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Rick and Esther Snyder of Follansbee.

The groom is the son of Teresa Lynn Fernbaugh of Avella and the late Rev. Fernbaugh.

Sister of the bride Karli Snyder of Beech Bottom served as maid of honor. Sarah Allaway of Charleston, Sara Blankenship of Weirton, Angel McClendon of Virgina Beach, Va., and Amy Gill of Wooster served as the bridalmaids.

Terry Horne of Scenery Hill, Pa., served as the best man. Brandon Gilmore of Washington, Pa., Jeremiah Fernbaugh of Virginia Beach, Ethan Fernbaugh of Harrisonburg, Va., and Jedidiah Fernbaugh of Avella served as the groomsmen.

Ringbearers were Ryan and Kevin Meade of Canton, Ga., and flowergirls were Marielle Fitzgerald of Elkton, Md., and MacKenzie Reese of Center Valley, Pa.

After a reception on the grounds of Sandscrest, the couple honeymooned in Gatlinburg, Tenn.

The bride is a 2005 graduate of Brooke High School and a 2009 graduate of West Liberty University with a degree in music education. She works as a music and choral teacher at Oak Glen Middle School.

The groom graduated from Grace Bible Christian School in 2000 and is a 2007 graduate of West Liberty University with a degree in communications-journalism. He is self-employed as a freelance writer/editor.
