GRIBBEN, Robert Allen Sr., 88, died peacefully at his home on April 21, 2012.
Born in Steubenville, Ohio, he lived in Jensen Beach, Fla., for 29 years moving there from Wintersville, Ohio.
He graduated from Wintersville High School in 1942.
He was a World War II veteran who participated in the Battle of the Buldge, where he was a staff sergeant in the 264th Field Artillery Battalion. After completing the Officer Candidate Course he was appointed 2nd lieutenant in the 48th Reinforcement Battalion.
Prior to retiring he was owner and founder of Robert A. Gribben Construction Co. in Steubenville, Ohio. He was a charter member of the Wintersville American Legion.
He was a member of Treasure Coast Presbyterian Church and a past member of the Wintersville United Methodist Church. He was very active in numerous charitable organizations.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Goldie Gribben, of Jensen Beach; daughter, Patricia L. Bradford, of Jensen Beach; sons, Robert A. Gribben, Jr., of Weirton, Ohio, and Edward W. Gribben, of Palm City, Fla.; brothers, George A. Gribben, Jr., of Howard, Ohio, and James H. Gribben, of Charlotte, N.C.; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lucille Gribben, and his brother, Earl F. Gribben.

Services: A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 25, at 2 p.m. at the Treasure Coast Presbyterian Church with Pastor David Richardson and Rev. George A. Gribben III officiating.
