Blazing Saddles

Blazing Saddles 4-H Club members met at the home of Faye Verhovec, adviser, with eight in attendance.

Makala Martin conducted the meeting, and a discussion was held on the Ohio 4-H window decorating contest, with the club posting a poster at Super C in Smithfield.

Mackenzie Zimmerman demonstrated how to make a banana split cake, and Martin showed how to groom a dog.

A hiking trip is being planned.

Golden Horseshoe

The Golden Horseshoe 4-H Club met at the home of Carolyn Piergallini, adviser, on county Road 10. Kayla Ankrom presided. Members voted to accept the state constitution change.

The club was one of the 13 winners in the Ohio 4-H Window Contest, with the display done at Spanky's in Wintersville.

Future plans include taking part in the 4-H cookie dough sale.

The next meeting will be at 4 p.m. on May 6 at the Piergallini home.

Friends and Neighbors

An Easter egg hunt was held when the Friends and Neighbors 4-H Club met, with 11 present. Lane Corder presided.

Cloverbuds learned about the five senses, and the club won a grant to participate in the Cloverbud Challenge in Columbus on June 9. Donna Corder, adviser, was to attend a training session regarding this.

A bowling party was held at Valie Lanes in Jewett for members with plans made to attend the ribbon-cutting for the Jefferson County Fairgrounds Trails.

The next meeting will be at 6:15 p.m. on April 26 at the Colonial Baptist Church fellowship room.

Hearts 4 Horses

The Hearts 4 Horses 4-H Club met at the Harrisville Fire Hall with Alexa Clark and April Knight both in charge.

Dulcie Rockwell gave a demonstration on "How to Tack a Horse." Alexander Lude gave a demonstration on dog safety. Danielle Kirk conducted a game called "Parts of the Human Body."

A discussion was held on community services and members shared design ideas for the 4-H T-shirts.

Future plans include selling pepperoni rolls and getting the new shirts.

The next meeting is at 6:45 p.m. on May 14 at the fire house.
