FERRELL, Jay W., 70, of Newark, passed away on April 17, 2012.
Mr. Ferrell, a retired heavy equipment operator and entertainer, was born on Aug. 17, 1941, to the late John and Clarissa Ferrell in Carrollton, Ohio.
He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church (CAC) in Newark with Rev. Keith and Dr. Janice Sjostrand as his pastors.
Surviving are his wife, Sandra J. (Cline) Ferrell; daughter, Samantha Jackson; sons, Jay W. (Kathy) Ferrell II and Jon M. (Crystal) Ferrell; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pat Pincola and Marilyn (Loren) Bates; brother, Rev. D.E. (Nancy) Ferrell; many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his friend, Deryl Stutz and many friends in the entertainment world.
The family will hold a memorial service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark, Ohio.
