RICHMOND - The Edison softball team dropped a heartbreaker at home to John Marshall, 4-3, Wednesday.

The Wildcats three runs were all produced via round trippers. Kayla Prokopakis smashed a two-run home run and Trisha Trifonoff had a solo shot. Zoe Westfall gave up four runs through six innings and Caitlin Brenstuhl pitched a scoreless seventh.

Edison (12-6) is at St. Clairsville today.

Cadiz grounds Jets

CADIZ - Harrison Central erupted for 15 hits, led by three singles and four RBIs from Katie Parkinson, in Wednesday's 11-1 win over visiting Union Local at Sally Buffalo Park.

Kara Dunfee added a double and two singles as the Huskies raised their record to 12-5.

Paige Dunlap, Katie Ellzy and Kiley Staley each had a pair of hits and Brooke Shultz doubled in two runs.

Harrison Central (12-5) hosts Steubenville Central today.

STEUBENVILLE - The Central softball team picked up an 11-1 win Wednesday at Steve Zamana Field.

Lara Householder picked up the win, going four frames and striking out five with Megan Lloyd tossing a scoreless fifth. Maddie Gulan had a single and blasted a grand slam to go with six RBIs to lead the offensive charge. Micca Mirabella added three singles and an RBI.

The Crusaders (14-4) are at Harrison Central today.

Dons hold off Bulldogs

WEIRTON - The Madonna softball team held off a late rally from visiting Bridgeport to claim a 5-3 win Wednesday.

Emily Hvizdak had a double and a triple to lead the Lady Dons. Letti Quattrochi added a double. Amanda Pulice earned the win on the mound, striking out six.

Madonna (7-6) hosts Toronto today.
