CADIZ - The Harrison Central baseball team scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh to claim an 8-7 win over visiting Union Local Wednesday. Catcher Gabe Hyndman hit a walkoff, two-RBI triple for the Huskies.
Hyndman played big at the plate all game finishing with a pair of triples, a single and four RBIs. Rasheen Mitchell had a triple and an RBI with Kalub Mitchell, Rhett Kuryn and Hunter Yarnell each getting an RBI as well.
Harrison Central (11-8) hosts Buckeye Local today.

Brooke outlasts Park
WELLSBURG - The Brooke baseball team outhit Wheeling Park 14-7 en route to an 11-8 win at the Brooke Athletic Complex Wednesday. Heath Hildreth, who entered for starter Brent Pellen in the fourth, picked up the win with Nick Breen closing out a scoreless seventh. Breen struck out all three Patriots he faced.
Steven Jeffries had a huge day at the plate with a single, double, triple and five RBIs. Hildreth had two singles and two RBIs with Kelaen Welch and Pellen each getting a double, single and an RBI. Breen had a double and a single.
Brooke (10-10) hosts John Marshall at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

STEUBENVILLE - The Catholic Central baseball team pounded out 15 runs on as many hits en route to a five-inning, 15-5 win over River at Vaccaro Field Wednesday.
Brannt Pieniazek got the win on the hill with Steven Mihalyo taking over in the fifth to close the game out. Joey Irvin had a single and triple, Dave Bertoia three singles, Jimmy Panella and Adam Lyons two singles and Mihalyo a triple for the Crusaders, who travel to Buckeye Trail today.

Edison beats Ferry
MARTINS FERRY - The Edison baseball team traveled to Martins Ferry and brought home a 5-4 win despite a two-run rally by the Purple Riders in the seventh.
Alec Jones picked up the win striking out four over five innings with Chad Wickham pitching the sixth and seventh frames. Wickham and Phil Hilt each had two singles and an RBI and Mark Smyth had a double and an RBI.
Edison (15-2) travels to St. Clairsville Friday.

NEW MANCHESTER - The Oak Glen baseball team fell behind 5-0 and 10-6 before rallying to defeat East Liverpool, 11-10, Wednesday at the Field of Dreams Complex.
Steve Barr recorded the win for the Golden Bears (8-9) in relief of starter Tyler Steed. Barr struck out nine and walked four without giving up a hit or a run in 3 innings of work. Tanner Crago contributed a single, double and three RBIs, Kyle Woodruff finished with two singles and three RBIs and Trey Smith tallied a single and two RBI. Also, Jeff Hissam singled and had an RBI.
Oak Glen plays a doubleheader Friday at Clay-Battelle.
