James O'Brien

O'BRIEN, James M., 67, of Steubenville, died Friday, April 13, 2012, at Valley Hospice. He was born May 9, 1944, in Washington, D.C.

He is the son of the late Neil and Dorothy Flaherty O'Brien, James is also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Helfert O'Brien.

James was retired from the sales department of Staffilino Chevrolet, was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church and was owner-operator of the former Jim O'Brien Lincoln Mercury dealership in Virginia.

Surviving are three sons, Christopher (Kristin) O'Brien of Bethesda, Md., Neil O'Brien of Steubenville and Paul O'Brien of Wintersville; three daughters, Denise (Rance) Hitt of Kensington, Md., Shaunda (Gaven) Swearingen and Bridget O'Brien both of Steubenville; one brother, Dennis O'Brien of Conn.; nine grandchildren, William, Max, Dylan, Jack, Nicolette, Caroline, Delaney, Jasper and Georgia.

Calling hours are Tuesday 4-8 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Monsignor Gerald Calovini, celebrant. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. There will be a vigil service 3:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to either Holy Family Church or to AIM.
