SHERWOOD, Jr., Vernon W. "Tony," 76, of Dunedin, Fla., passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012, in the HPH Hospice Center in New Port Richey, Fla.
Tony was born Dec. 29, 1935, in Chicago, Ill., son of the late Vernon W. Sr. and Evelyn Sherwood Rogers.
Tony was a retired bus driver for the Pinellas County Transit Authority in Florida. He also served his country in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche E. Sherwood who passed away July 5, 2011.
Tony is survived by his children, daughter, Michelle (Dennis) Stark of San Marcos, Calif., daughter, Lesley Wahl of Port Richey, Fla., daughter, Jonita Harder of Vancouver, Wash., his son, Scott W. (Bethany) Sherwood of Fairborn, Ohio; sister, Sally Hopkins of Santa Rosa, Calif., sister, Ellen Sherwood of Matteson, Ill.; his beloved aunt, Millicent Doll of Joliet, Ill. Tony also leaves behind eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.
Visitation for Tony will be held on Friday, April 6 from 10 a.m. until the noon funeral service at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, Ohio. Rev. Robert Meyer will officiate Tony's service and burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery in Toronto, Ohio.
