Crusaders top Riders

WEIRTON - The Central softball team scored six runs in the first, four in the sixth, and added an insurance run in the seventh to overpower homestanding Weir 11-3 Monday.

Paige Creamer went six innings for the Crusaders, striking out eight Red Riders' batters. Lara Householder came on in the seventh in relief for one scoreless frame.

At the plate for Central Allee Vandeborne led the way with four singles and three RBI. Creamer helped her own cause, smacking two singles and driving in two runs. Sara Moziejko added a double and two RBI with Kayla Lloyd picking up a single and an RBI and Ashlynne Daley driving in one run on a single.

Meikka Buffo had a home run and a single for the Red Riders with Caitlyn Fodor adding a pair of triples, Danica Rasicci hitting two singles, and Taylor Gianangeli picking up a double.

Central (1-0) is on the road again today against Buckeye Trail.

Blue Dons claw Bears

WEIRTON - The Madonna softball team erased a 3-0 deficit after a half-inning and went on to beat visiting Oak Glen, 17-7, in three innings Monday at Starvaggi Park.

The Blue Dons scored three in the bottom of the first and answered a run by the Golden Bears in the top of the second with an eight-spot of their own in the bottom of the second. They finished the game with six in the bottom of the third.

Letti Quatrochi, Sara Lyons and Emily Pietranton each singled twice for Madonna. Quattrochi picked up the win.

Maddison McPherson singled twice for Oak Glen.

Redskins blast Potters

EAST LIVERPOOL - The Indian Creek softball team pounded 16 hits in an 18-0 victory over host East Liverpool Monday.

Paige DeMattio collected four RBIs on a home run, double and single. Ashley Starr earned the win on the mound and singled four times for three RBIs. Brey Mays added two doubles and a single and Page Geanangel homered and singled for an RBI.

WELLSVILLE - The Toronto softball team scored four runs in each of the first two innings and went on for a 20-6 victory over homestanding Wellsville Monday.

Shane Sears earned the win. She fanned five and walked two. Cari Horne went the final two innings.

Horne and Brittany Anderson each collected four singles and four RBIs. Sears, Chelsey Anderson and Kaylee Yasho each delivered two singles. Carly Cooper had a double and single and Maddie Stoica a double.
