Current school is overcrowded

To the editor:

My name is Ashlena Moore, a student at Indian Creek High School. I am discussing the decision about if a new high school should be built.

First, there are several reasons why we could use a new high school. The school is overcrowded. The hallways have too many students in them during class changes. The classrooms are too small. Our school could use many changes that would bring us up to the latest technologies. One important issue is that our school is not equipped for special need students.

Second, there are too many buildings. Students have to go outside for several classes. In the winter time the ground is snowy and icy. Therefore, students could slip on ice and get hurt. Since the ground is sometimes snowy, water is tracked into the building all day long. This causes students to fall on the slippery floor. Other reasons are that the walls and floors are not in good condition, and the heating system is not adequate.

On Tuesday, as a student, I recommend everyone go out and vote for the levy for a new high school. Students in the future deserve a new high school and a better educational atmosphere.
